There’s a lot to see and do in Sydney within the span of a day, whether your interests lie in exploring the city’s rich history, enjoying its beautiful beaches, or discovering its stunning natural scenery. You won’t have to book a flight for a gorgeous vacation when you are in Sydney. You can just do one of many day trips that will make you want a whole lot more.
Before going on an adventure, leave your luggage at any of mindmybag’s luggage storage locations so you can focus on enjoying your time without worrying about your stuff.
Here are some of the day trips you can do from Sydney:
It will take you about an hour and ten minutes to get to Blue Mountains if you drive or take the bus. If you like going on hikes, the view from the top of the mountain will blow you away and the work you put in will be well worth it. Be sure to be in the right hiking gear though as the last thing you would want to happen would be to get injured.
You need to be in good shape to get there because it can be tiring to climb over some rocks in the area. The good news is that the trail has already been used by a lot of people. You can even ride your bike on some beautiful trails on the mountain, and those who like rock climbing will find this area perfect for the sport.
One of the tourists’ favorite places to go for a short break is the beach town of Kiama, which is south of Sydney. This village is known as a dairy place as you can enjoy some ice cream and sugary coffee drinks here. You can even go skydiving if you are the adventurous type. Don’t forget to check out the Kiama Lighthouse and stop by the Visitors Centre to get some maps or ideas about where to go.
Believe it or not, there are four national parks along the river. A cruise is the best way to get around these parks. Someone who knows what happened to these national parks will even show you around. There are even some towns that are so far away that you can only get to them by boat. You’ll also enjoy learning about the seven islands there.
This quiet beach is perfect for surfers. You can spend time with your family in the sun and sand without going too far from the city. Surfers with more experience can find better waves at the north end of the beach. On the other hand, people who don’t know how to surf should go to the south end. The worst thing that could happen is to get hurt so when the tide is high, so it’s important to remember to wear protective gear when surfing. The good news is that it’s close to a lot of shopping options, like surf shops and trendy clothing boutiques, so you can also go on a shopping spree when you see all the great things for sale.
Kangaroo Valley is one of the only closed valleys in the world. It has rolling farmland set against beautiful cliffs, and the powerful Kangaroo River flows through it all. Located just a few hours from Sydney, you can do a lot of things in this place. You can do some wine tasting and try out some drinks that will make you crave for more. You can even try out some local fresh produce here. When you think you’ve seen it all, Fitzroy Falls will amaze you.
Do something unique with your companion in Hunter Valley. This place offers hot air balloon rides for couples, and the views are beautiful in many ways. Historic vineyards in the region’s vast valleys and sprawling pastures produce wonderful wine flavors, so don’t miss out on enjoying the wine when you visit.
You should take your whole family to Port Stephens if you want to help the marine life. You’ll have the chance to feed rays and sharks, which is not something you can just do on any given day. Try snorkeling and feeding sharks when you tour the aquarium, too.
All of the above places are great for day trips from Sydney when the weather is nice. So, you should check the weather before you book tours to them to enjoy the places we mentioned above.
