Where to stay in Brisbane?
In recent years, we have visited this beautiful city in Queensland several times and stayed overnight at different places. Therefore, it is time to highlight our favourite places to stay in Brisbane. These hotels and apartments we recommend!
Adina Apartment Hotel Brisbane
During our last visit to Brisbane, we stayed at Adina Apartment Hotel Brisbane, a beautiful hotel on a very good location. This great hotel is located in the bustling George Street near Treasury Casino. From the hotel you have a view of Queens Gardens and you can see Southbank in the distance. Upon entering the Adina Apartment Hotel Brisbane, you immediately see how beautiful this hotel is.
The rooms are spacious, clean and there’s a great bathroom. We had a nice view from our room on the city park (Queens Gardens) and on South Bank. From the hotel you can walk straight into the bustling city centre. It may not be the cheapest hotel in Brisbane, but given the location, service and beautiful rooms, it is worth every dollar. We absolutely recommend Adina Apartment Hotel Brisbane!
Code Apartments
If you want to stay in the Bowen Hills area like we did, we can absolutely recommend Code Apartments. We stayed in one of these lovely apartments in 2020. Bowen Hills is 15 minutes by public transport from Brisbane CBD and therefore has a slightly lower price compared to city centre apartments. The flat we stayed in was very clean and had a balcony where we had a nice view of the surrounding area. Bowen Hills train station is a 5-minute walk away, giving you quick access to Brisbane city centre. So if you want to stay in a cheaper accommodation and you don’t mind taking the train to the city, we would definitely recommend Code Apartments!
Meriton Serviced Apartments Herschel Street
During our road trip along the east coast of Australia in 2016, we stayed in Brisbane for 2 nights. We had stayed at Meriton Serviced Apartments Herschel Street. These stunning apartments are located just 100 metres from the Brisbane River. Meriton Serviced Apartments Herschel Street has modern apartments with their own kitchen, washing machine, flat screen TV and free Wi-Fi. Everything you need is there, including a great view! If you would like a self-catering accommodation in a super good location, then a stay at Meriton Serviced Apartments Herschel Street is for you.
Riverside Hotel South Bank
Would you prefer to stay overnight in South Bank? Then we can recommend Riverside Hotel South Bank. This hotel is within walking distance of all the cosy restaurants and bars of South Bank and a stone’s throw away from Gallery of Modern Art and Queensland Museum. The rooms are simple, but clean and have a small balcony. The price is a bit lower than the above hotels and apartments, but that is mainly because the other hotels are a bit more chic. The Riverside Hotel South Bank is a fine hotel if you want to stay close to vibrant South Bank.

Tips for booking your next hotel in Australia
- If you want to spend your night in Brisbane as cheaply as possible, avoid the weekends and try to visit the city during the week. During the weekend, the prices of hotels and apartments are much more expensive. This can make a big difference!
- Because it is still an uncertain time, it is wise to book your hotel or apartment with free cancellation. You often pay extra for this, but it gives you more rest.
- If you are in a city like Brisbane for a longer period of time, it is also nice to book several hotels or apartments so that you can get to know different areas of a city.
